Man City have been fined €10 million by the CAS for breaching the FFP rules meaning they will still be able to play in the Champions League next season.
And while the Man City fans will be pretty pleased with the let-off, the majority of the footballing world has chosen to show their annoyance over the ruling and the fact that Man City have been able to use their force in order to escape a European ban.
A lot of pundits and experts have come out to criticise the ruling but amongst all this, two men made the most sense – Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho.
According to the Liverpool manager, the ethos of football might be at risk after this call from the CAS.
He said, as per Sky Sports: “From a personal point of view, I’m happy City can play Champions League next year because, when I think about the league and City has 10-12 games less for resting players, I don’t see any chance for any teams in the league, honestly.
“Apart from that, I don’t wish anybody anything bad, but I don’t think it was a good day for football yesterday, to be honest.
“I think FFP is a good idea, it is there for protecting teams and the competition, that was the idea in the start so that nobody overspends and clubs have to make sure the money they want to spend is based on the right sources.

“I really hope that FFP stays because it gives at least kind of borders that you can go to but not over, which is good for football.
“If you start doing it so that nobody cares anymore, the richest people or countries can do what they want to do and that would make the competition really difficult.
“I think that would automatically lead to a world super league, with like 10 clubs.”
Current Tottenham Hotspur Jose Mourinho has chosen to attack the governing authorities as well as Man City by claiming that this is poor judgement, no matter where the truth lies.
Mourinho said: “If Manchester City is not guilty of it, to be punished by some million is a disgrace. If you’re not guilty you’re not punished. In the other way, if you’re guilty you should be banned. In any case, it’s a disaster.
“I’m not saying Manchester City is guilty. I’m saying if you’re not guilty you don’t pay. Even with a pound.

“I know that money is quite easy for them but still. If you’re guilty you should be banned from the competition.
“I’m nobody to know if they’re guilty or not. My criticism is for the decision.
“I think it is going to be the end of Financial Fair Play because there is no point. In this moment, we are speaking about Manchester City but in the past other clubs were in a similar situation and you know the results of it.
“So I think it is better to open the circus door and let everybody enjoy and go inside for free and come out again. Do it with freedom.”
