Spurs will travel to the Etihad this weekend to take on Manchester City in the second game of the new Premier League season.

The Lilywhites despite making a slow start to the 2019-20 campaign, managed to pick up all three points last weekend as they beat Aston Villa 3-1.

But for sure the Spurs players will have to be on their toes when they take on the defending champions.

And speaking before the high profile game, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino hinted at some of his team selection including the starting of Christian Eriksen amidst all the rumours about his exit from the club.

Is Ben Davies fit to start?

Yes, I know you are going to ask me about names. “Now we have a lot of numbers of players who are going to be involved.

We still have some injured players. It will be difficult the selection in the next few weeks, but that is my job to be right in the selection and try to perform in our best way to win games.

That is most important for us and of course if we are going to recover players and be more competitive during the week in the training sessions that is only positive because it’s going to increase our levels.

That increases the level in the squad. If we increase the competition then are going to be closer to winning the games any time we will take on opponents.

Will Christian Eriksen be named in the first XI?

We will see. Only 11 players can start. I am happy last week how he did, his performance in training. contract situation make a difference to selection.

Vertonghen to miss out for Spurs?

We’ll see like I said about Christian, we have one training session more and it’s a player who is fit and that is my decision like last week to be involved or not.

Loanee Le Celso to make his debut?

It is the same, we need to assess him.

A lot of things have happened in his life now. He arrived with no pre-season, of course, he is trying to adapt himself, his physical condition, tactically, settle in a new country in a new philosophy and it is not easy.

I can tell you he won’t be in the starting XI, but if he is going to be involved or not we need to assess today. We need to see how he is and see the balance on the bench.
