Man United were held to a 3-3 draw at home in the Premier League by Everton and it seems like the Red Devils’ title push has come to a premature end.

United bossed the game from the very first minute but the Toffees still managed to squeeze three goals past David De Gea, with the equalizer coming in the 95th minute of the match.

The two dropped points now mean Man United are expected to fall further behind in the Premier League title race and now manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has finally admitted that his side were never genuine title contenders.

“We played some good football in the second half but conceded three goals from three shots on target. When you do that it’s disappointing,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

“I wouldn’t blame anyone on the goals but we know we could have done better as a team on all of them.

“Results create the mood, the last kick of the ball makes us go home really disappointed. We have lost two points on a long thump upfield which we should have defended.

“We are not talking about winning titles. We have come a long way, this team.

“We should not even be considered as title chasers. That is more talk that you (the media) are saying. We need to be better as a team and see where we end up. Going forward, we need to stop conceding easy goals.”

Man United’s recent form had urged many pundits to believe that the OT outfit can challenge the likes of Man City and Liverpool for the Premier League title this season.

But despite some fine performances, Solskjaer’s men are failing to pick up wins from tight situations which clearly indicates that this Man United side still needs one more season before they can properly go head-to-head against the big boys.

As of now, the Man United boss will be hoping that his players can keep their foot on the peddle so that they don’t have to scramble for a top-four finish in the coming months.

Next up, Man United are back in the FA Cup in midweek where they take on an in-form West Ham United side at Old Trafford.
