Man United suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool in the Premier League and with this dented confidence they will now take on Arsenal during the weekend.

United needed to beat Liverpool if they wanted to have a good chance at making it into the top-four but there’s still a glimmer of hope left should they be able to beat Arsenal. The Gunners do have a game in hand but like United, they too are looking really shaky which means Mikel Arteta’s side will also drop points.

Ralf Rangnick will be hoping that his players can come back with a proper performance on Saturday but the interim manager will be without some very important players when the Red Devils visit the Emirates on Saturday.

Man United injury list:

Luke Shaw – Shaw has had a few screws removed from his leg so he is going to be out for the remainder of the season. The full-back has been in good form whenever he’s played so his absence is going to be a big miss.

Fred – The midfielder is out with a hip injury and while there’s a chance he could be fit in time for the trip to London but it will definitely be touch and go.

Paul Pogba – Pogba is the latest addition to the Man United injury list after the Frenchman picked up a muscle injury during the first-half at Anfield.

Speaking after the match, Rangnick confirmed: “He pulled his calf muscle and, as it seems right now, this will not be an injury like the one Fred has which will be gone in one week. I fear he will not be available for Arsenal or Chelsea.”

Edinson Cavani – The South American has spent more time on the treatment table this season than on the pitch and right now, he is recovering from a calf injury.

Ronaldo – CR7 was given time off after the demise of his newborn son but some reports are suggesting that the forward has reported back to full training on Wendesday morning. It remains to be seen if he will be used for the away game or not.

Raphael Varane – The defender is scheduled to make a comeback some time this weekend but there’s still no official confirmation whether he will be fit for the Arsenal vs Man United game or not.

Thankfully, Scott McTominay was fit enough to make it to the bench against Liverpool so he is likely to get a starting role on Saturday.

All these injuries are causing major annoyances for the interim manager and it will be the same case on Saturday as well. Several players were used out of position against Liverpool and the manager might have to rely on those same tactics against Arsenal as well. With key players like Fred and Pogba out, Rangnick will have to ask Bruno to play a much deeper role or maybe bring in Jesse Lingard in place of Nemanja Matic.
