Anthony Martial wanted by West Ham United Man United

Man United already have Harry Maguire out injured and after their latest Premier League game, a few other names could be added to that list.

Harry Maguire is facing a race against time to be fit for the Europa League final vs Villarreal and during their 1-1 draw vs Fulham in midweek, midfielders Fred and McTominay might also have picked up knocks.

McTominay was replaced by Marcus Rashford in the 62nd minute of the match so it’s pretty clear that he has some issues which is why Ole Solskjaer did not want to take any major risks. And while Fred did finish the full 90 minutes but the Brazilian could also have a problem.

The manager said on Tuesday: “Harry, we are working on. It doesn’t look great. We have had a couple of players who have got knocks today, with Scott [McTominay] and Fred. So I will see how they are.

“Unfortunately Scott had to come off and Fred doesn’t look great when he is walking now. But we have got eight days [to the final] and hopefully everyone who was available today will be available.

“We have still got a little bit of hope for Anthony. We are hoping. He is working really hard. We are hoping he will be available for the final.

“He has worked really hard. He has been very thorough. Very enthusiastic. I can’t say that he won’t be fit for the final but, of course, he has been out for a long time. I am still hopeful.“

Anthony Martial is not likely to be fit for the Europa League final and it will definitely be touch and go for Harry Maguire.  Fred and McTominay will get a fair bit of time to rest and recover so we hope they can be fine and ready to start against Villarreal.

Man United take on Wolves in their final Premier League match of the season next Sunday but since they have already secured a top-four finish so Solskjaer really doesn’t need to push things in this game.

And this week long rest should be enough for some if not all the injured players to boost up their fitness and make themselves available for selection next week for the final in Gdansk.
