Man United were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom on Sunday in the Premier League and these two dropped points now mean that City have the chance of going 10 points clear at the top of the table.

Man United went behind in just the second minute of the match as Mbaye Diagne outmuscled Victor Lindelof to head the ball into the back of the net. And according to pundit Ian Wright, Man United’s slow starts ares turning out to be a major cause of concern.

He said, as reported: “That[Slow starts] would be a worry for me if I was a Manchester United fan, how slow they start matches. When are they going to address that?

“Harry Maguire was talking about Victor Lindelof being fouled [for the West Brom goal], but he [Diagne] wins the ball for me, he just wanted it more. They [Maguire and Lindelof] were bullied about by the big centre forward today. Manchester United were very fortunate not to lose that game.”

Man United did not trouble West Brom for much of the first-half and it was just before half-time that Bruno Fernandes put the ball into the back of the net.

And it was during the final quarter of the match that the visitors turned up the heat but by then, it was too take to turn things around.

West Brom did a commendable job in picking up a hard-fought point on Sunday but Man United should really be beating a team who have won just two out of their 24 league games this season.

Harry Maguire and Lindelof have faltered a couple of times this season and each time, it has costed Man United dearly. And now this draw means that the pressure is off league leaders Manchester City.

The pair have not been really great when they play have started in defence this season and together they have conceded 48 fouls in the Premier League so far.
