Manchester United are a club in distress and have been so ever since Sir Alex Ferguson resigned as the manager.

Since the Scott vacated his chair, the glory of Red Devils have faded away and after moving from David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal, United have handed over their fate to Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has entered his third season at the club and things are certainly not looking bright for the former Chelsea boss.

Reports have claimed that Mourinho might be sacked before the end of the season as United sit eighth on the league table – nine points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Amongst all this doom and gloom, Manchester United still have one thing to be proud of that the other clubs cannot even come close to.

For the past 81 years, Manchester United have named an academy graduate in their matchday squad – a staggering 3937 games.

From the likes of George Best to Gary Neville to Marcus Rashford, Manchester United have always had one academy player in their matchday squad – something that most European clubs can only dream about.

United already have the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard as their first team regulars while youngsters like Tahith Chong and Angel Gomez are waiting in the wings.
