Man United have made a terrible start to their new Premier League campaign and things have been so bad that pundits are actually including then in the first draft of the relegation battles.

So far Manchester United have played 8 league matches and have managed to pick up only 9 points from these games and next up they welcome current league leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Under normal circumstances, a Man United vs Liverpool match would have been an evenly fought contest. But this time around everyone is more or less certain that the visiting side will run riot at Old Trafford.

Also if Man United fail to pick up even a point in this match then surely the noose will tighten even further around Solskjaer’s neck and the management would then start looking for possible replacements.

Man Utd news vs Liverpool:

United have been hit with a number of injury blows during the past couple of weeks with players like Pogba, Martial and Wan-Bissaka all out with injuries.

While some of these names are expected to return back but the manager could still miss a few big names for the Man United vs Liverpool clash.

Wan-Bissaka is suffering from tonsillitis while Diogo Dalot has also picked up a groin injury. And with Luke Shaw also out of action, the manager might be forced to name Marcos Rojo at right-back while Ashley Young plays on the left-hand side.

Latest reports though claim Bissaka might be fit in time to play in which case he will play on the right while Ashley Young moves to the left.

David De Gea picked up a knock while playing for Spain on international duty and there is some serious doubt over his participation in the Man United vs Liverpool clash on Sunday.

In case, the Spaniard is not fit in time then Sergio Romero will play in front of goal.

Victor Lindelof should be fit in time and will partner summer signing Harry Maguire in central defence on Sunday.

Paul Pogba has also been nursing an ankle injury but the Frenchman should be fit and available for selection on Sunday and will partner the pair of Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay in midfield.

Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are both out injured which makes Solskjaer short of options upfront.

Marcus Rashford and Daniel James are guaranteed starters and owing to all the injuries, Andreas Pereira will once again get to start on the right flank.
