Man United have fallen out of the top-four race but they reminded everyone of what they are capable of by picking up a 3-0 win against Brentford last weekend.

Next up, Man United take on Brighton in an away game and apart from playing for pride, there’s nothing much left to scavenge for Ralf Rangnick’s side. The interim manager rang in several changes to his side for the Bees tie and he could once again opt for the same on Saturday.

United haven’t won an away game in their last five matches but the players will still have to keep up their confidence and showcase their talent for the incoming manager. Several players could be sold in the summer but if they can perform well in these final few matches then there’s every chance that Erik ten Hag will give them a clean slate.

Manchester United have won just two out of their previous five games but Ralf Rangnick won’t be worried too much about the results anymore so he could shuffle his starting lineup once more. Rangnick might give his fringe players a run-in this weekend just to give them some game time.

Man United team news vs Brighton:

Harry Maguire was supposed to be ruled out for the rest of the season but the defender has returned to training and is in line to start alongside Raphael Varane. It will be harsh on Lindelof because the Swede has been pretty solid but Maguire needs to get his confidence back before ETH takes over.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has also returned to training but the right-back will not likely move up the pecking order, ahead of Diogo Dalot.

Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba are not going to play any more part this season and at least one of them might have played his final game for Manchester United.

Fred was fit enough to come off the bench last weekend but the Brazilian will get a start in place of Nemanja Matic.

Jesse Lingard did not get a farewell at Old Trafford but the Man United academy lad might be handed a start this weekend. Elanga needs a rest and with Rashford out of form, Lingard could start on the right flank.

Juan Mata showed his class against Brentford and it won’t be a surprise if the Man United manager chooses to hand him another start. If Mata gets a start then Bruno Fernandes will have to take up a place out wide.

Jadon Sancho is going to be an absentee as reported by the club’s official website so Fernandes, playing out wide is not a wild possibility at all.

Edinson Cavani is finally back to full fitness but the South American isn’t going to overtake Cristiano Ronaldo for the centre-forward role.

Man United predicted line up vs Brighton:

Predicted Starting XI(4-2-3-1): De Gea; Maguire/Lindelof, Varane, Telles, Dalot; Fred, McTominay; Juan Mata, Bruno Fernandes, Jesse Lingard; Ronaldo.
