Thanks to Liverpool’s draw against Villa last weekend, Man United are on the brink of European qualification as they just need only one point from their last two games of the season.

Manchester United’s next Premier League game is against Chelsea and because they will be playing at home, we expect the Red Devils to pick up all three points.

United were not at their best against Bournemouth but they got the job done. At Old Trafford though, they have been one of the strongest sides in the whole of Europe because out of the 17 matches played, United have lost just once. Also, the Blues are in absolute shambles so it shouldn’t be difficult to pick up a win and cement their position in the top four.

Because Man United need only one point, Erik ten Hag will have one eye on the club’s FA Cup final against Manchester City. While he is going to name a strong side on Thursday but if they can wrap things early then ETH will waste no time in withdrawing his important players.

Manchester United’s team news and injuries:

Marcus Rashford missed the Bournemouth game due to an illness but he will be back in action in midweek. He’s fully recovered from his knock so it makes no sense to keep him on the bench.

Rashford is the top goal-scorer for Manchester United this season so Ten Hag will want him on the pitch.

The manager had said last week[h/t Premier Injuries]: ‘[Marcus] trained the whole week, but today he reported he doesn’t feel well, so he’s ill.’

Lisandro Martinez’s absence has not had a major impact because Victor Lindelof has done really well to fill up that gap alongside Raphael Varane.

Marcel Sabitzer is ruled out with a meniscus tear but that won’t matter because Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will pair up in central midfield with Bruno Fernandes playing in the No 10 role.

Garnacho is fully fit and is available for selection but it’s Rashford who is going to start on the left-hand side meaning the Argentine youngster will only play as a substitute on Thursday.

The Man United manager won’t want to keep things for the final game of the season so he is going to name his usual and strongest starting line up against Chelsea.
