Man United were once sitting in the fourth spot on the Premier League table but after dropping several key points, they have now slipped to the sixth position.

United have been dropping unnecessary points during the second half of the campaign and they could face the same fate this weekend as well when they welcome Leicester City. Leicester are not in the best of forms themselves but they have the squad strength to cause an upset at the Theatre of Dreams.

Manchester United are currently four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal and they have played one less game than the Gunners. They need to keep winning all their remaining games if they wish to have any chance at securing a Champions League spot but, to be honest, it will be really hard for the OT outfit to straightaway shift from second gear to the fifth.

Man Utd are undefeated in 9 of their last 10 matches in the PL and thankfully, Leicester City are not in great form as they have lost two out of their last five outings and are currently sitting 10th on the table. This is going to be an intensely close battle and there’s every chance that both of these teams will eventually cancel each other out.

Man United team news vs Leicester City:

Ralf Rangnick does not have too many injury concerns going into this weekend’s game so he should be able to name his strongest XI. A lot of players will be suffering from fatigue though so this is something the manager has to keep an eye out for.

Despite his wobbles for Man United, Harry Maguire’s performance for England has been stable but still, he was booed by the England fans during their second friendly match.

It remains to be seen if Rangnick sticks with him in central defence or does the manager pull him out from the eye of the storm and use Lindelof alongside Raphael Varane.

Dalot played for Portugal during the break so there’s a chance he could be rested because the Man United boss has Wan-Bissaka as a backup.

Fred has got a new lease of life under the interim manager and despite returning from South America the midfielder has trained on Thursday so he will be available for selection this weekend. Telles also returned to training but the manager is sure to rely on Luke Shaw.

Paul Pogba recently admitted that he is open to leaving the club in search of trophies so it will be interesting to see if the manager uses him in the first XI or does he slowly freezes out the French international.

Rashford has seen a massive dip in form in recent months but this break would have given him time to get his head straight and refocus on his life’s priorities.

Edinson Cavani has picked up yet another injury while on international duty which means Cristian Ronaldo will have to lead the line against Leicester City on Saturday.

Ronaldo helped Portugal secure qualification to the 2022 World Cup but with Cavani out of action, CR7 will not be getting any rest.
