3-4-1-2 Man United’s predicted line up vs Man City: Varane out injured?

Man United has been having a torrid time and they somehow managed to pick up a draw against Atlanta. And this one point could be a really crucial one for the player’s morals since they now take on Manchester City.

The two Manchester sides face off against each other in a lunchtime Premier League kick-off on Saturday and the Red Devils go into his game as the heavy underdogs, despite playing at home.

United have managed to avoid defeat in their previous two matches but the last time they faced a really world-class side things did not go too well for them(Liverpool thumped five goals past them).

Solskjaer has opted to change his formation over the past week and we think he is going to stick with the same 3-4-1-2 system on Saturday as well. Man United will obviously be playing for all three points but in the end, if they can avoid an embarrassing result then it will be a job well done.

Man United team news & injuries vs Man City:

David De Gea let in a really cheap goal against Atalanta so he will have to pull up his socks when he faces Manchester City.

The main concern for Solskjaer will be the injury to Raphael Varane. The defender had to be withdrawn in midweek and the club have now confirmed that the defender will be out for a month.

The official statement read: “Manchester United have provided further information on the extent of the injury suffered by Raphael Varane during Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Atalanta in the Champions League.

“The club confirms that Raphael sustained a hamstring injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for around a month.”

If he is not available then Eric Bailly will have to slot in as the third central defender alongside Maguire and Lindelof. Bailly had a pretty solid game vs Atalanta but if Varane is missing then it will be a major major blow for Man United.

The two wing-backs will have really important roles against Manchester City and if both Luke Shaw and Wan-Bissaka have good outings then Man United might just make something out of this game.

Paul Pogba will be absent due to a suspension so Fred and McTominay are the automatic choices in central midfield with Bruno Fernandes playing as the attacking midfielder.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the saviour for Man United once again and he will start up front, this time alongside Edinson Cavani. Cavani was used as a sub in the Champions League game but he’s going to replace Rashford on Saturday.

The change in shape means the likes of Rashford, Greenwood and Jadon Sancho will all start on the bench but will be available if needed in the second half.
