Man United got back to winning ways as they beat Real Sociedad in the Europa League Round of 32 this week and now they return to the Premier League when they take on Newcastle United on Sunday.

Manchester United have seen a slump in form in recent weeks, picking up just one win in their last five league games and they just cannot afford another slip up since Man City are already 10 points ahead of them at the top of the table.

Newcastle United have not been in great form either, losing three of their last five league games and suddenly they are agonizingly close to the relegation zone.

Man United are possibly the favourites going into this game but Ole’s side has surprisingly struggled against the weaker sides this season, losing to Sheffield and then drawing against West Brom so the OT outfit will not want to take this match lightly.

Man United team news vs Newcastle United:

Dean Henderson played in goal against Sociedad but David De Gea will come back into the starting line-up vs the Magpies.

Eric Bailly also made a start in midweek but Victor Lindelof should reprise his role in central defence alongside Harry Maguire. Alex Telles will make way for Luke Shaw at left-back.

Scott McTominay picked up a knock in Europe and he remains a major doubt for Sunday’s game at Old Trafford. With Paul Pogba also on the sidelines, Nemanja Matic will start in central midfield alongside Fred.

Donny van de Beek will be touch and go for this weekend’s game but he doesn’t get a start anyways with Bruno Fernandes playing in peak form.

Mason Greenwood started up front during the 4-0 win on Thursday but the youngster will have to move back to the right-wing against Newcastle United.

Marcus Rashford scored a goal in midweek but he should have found the back of the net a few other times. The England international will be hoping to rectify all the mistakes on Sunday though.

Edinson Cavani did not travel to Turin due to an injury and he is likely to go through a late fitness test to see if he is a 100% or not. If the South American is not available then Anthony Martial will play as the centre-forward vs Steve Bruce’s side.

Man United’s predicted XI vs Newcastle United:

Predicted Line-up: De Gea; Harry Maguire, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw; Fred, Nemanja Matic, Bruno Fernandes; Marcus Rashford, Greenwood, Cavani/Martial.
