Anthony Martial wanted by West Ham United Man United

Man United drew their latest Premier League match against Everton meaning they have fallen further behind in the title race. But the United players will have no time to repent as they now take on West Ham United in the FA Cup in midweek.

The Hammers have been in great form this season under David Moyes but they too, go into this 5th Round clash at the back of a 0-0 draw against Fulham in the league.

Man United have won their last 15 home matches against West Ham United and the last time these two sides met was back in December of 2020 at the London Stadium and Ole’s men won that match with a scoreline of 3-1.

Solskjaer has very few injury concerns to deal with going into this game but the manager is expected to make a few changes to his starting line-up since they played such a high-intensity game on Saturday.

Man United team news vs West Ham United:

Man United keeper David De Gea is going to move the bench as Dean Henderson has been the first-choice keeper for Ole during the cup games.

The backline could also see a reshuffle with Alex Telles coming back into the side – replacing Luke Shaw. Eric Bailly missed the Everton game with a knock and is currently a doubt for the Hammers match.

If Bailly is not fit then Axel Tuanzebe could be given a chance to start in central defence alongside Harry Maguire.

Paul Pogba picked up a thigh injury during the weekend’s game and is not expected to be part of the FA Cup squad on Tuesday.

With Pogba out of action, Fred and McTominay are likely to start in central midfield but the manager also has the option of bringing in Nemanja Matic after the Serbian remained on the bench on Saturday.

Bruno Fernandes should be rested in midweek since the last thing Ole would want is for the Portuguese to pick up an injury after Paul Pogba. But given how strongly West Ham United are performing this season, it will not be a surprise if Fernandes is named in the starting line-up once again.

Rashford and Mason Greenwood should keep their place in the starting line-up in midweek but Edinson Cavani will be given a much-deserved rest after he ran his socks off against Everton.

With Cavani moving to the bench, Anthony Martial will get a chance to come back into the side and reclaim his spot, up top.

Man United’s predicted line-up vs West Ham United:

Predicted Starting Line-up: Dean Henderson; Harry Maguire, Tuanzebe, Alex Telles, Aaron Wan-Bisska; Fred, McTominay/Matic, Bruno Fernandes/Van de Beek; Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial.
