Last weekend, Man United put up a stellar display against Liverpool at Anfield and with ample of confidence under their belt, the Red Devils will now travel to North London to face Arsenal in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.

After four defeats in a row, Manchester United managed a 2-2 draw against Liverpool but that one point was nothing short of a victory simply because Arne Slot’s side have been the in-form team in Europe this season. The United players are still struggling to adapt to Ruben Amorim’s tactics but Sunday’s draw will give the manager a lot of hope that his players can do what he wants them to do.

This is the ideal time for Man United to visit the Emirates Stadium because the Gunners have just been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United and a lot of questions are suddenly being raised about their ability to win major silverware. If the Red Devils can manage a similar performance from last weekend, they have a fighting chance of knocking out Arsenal but apart from self-belief, consistency has been the other major issue for the United players this season.

Manchester United’s team news, injuries and possible rotations for the FA Cup:

Mason Mount, Luke Shaw and Lindelof are the three injury absentees going into Sunday’s match. Apart from these three players, Ruben Amorim should not have any major selection issues.

Since Man United have gotten a full week’s rest, the backline is most likely going to remain unchanged but there’s also a chance that Leny Yoro might come in to replace De Ligt. Yoro was superb for the 10 minutes he was on the pitch vs Liverpool and the youngster does deserve a start.

After a first few games in the three-man central defence, Mazraoui has been shifted to a wing-back role and he will remain in that position on Sunday. Mazraoui at right wing-back allows Amad to play higher up the pitch, a position which is far more suited to him.

Amad has just signed a new contract with Man United until 2030 and right now, he is undroppable. Garnacho was impressive coming off the bench against Liverpool but there’s no way Amorim will drop Amad or Bruno Fernandes. Garnacho like Rashford seems to have fallen down the pecking order and currently, there are reports linking him with various European clubs.

The Man United boss has the option to use Casemiro or Eriksen in midfield but we are confident he is going to stick with the pairing of Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo.

Marcus Rashford missed the Liverpool game due to illness and he should be back in the matchday squad. The England international is really working hard to get back into the team however, we don’t think the Man United manager has any plans of using him in his starting lineup at the Emirates Stadium.

Zirkzee and Hojlund are in the running to start up front and Amorim will prefer using Rasmus Hojlund as his centre-forward primarily because the Dane is more of a physical threat. Hojlund has struggled to score goals but his chasing-down and hold-up play is far better than Joshua Zirkzee.

Man United predicted lineup vs Arsenal:

Goalkeeper: Andre Onana.

Defenders: De Ligt/Yoro, Harry Maguire, Martinez.

Wing-backs: Mazraoui, Diogo Dalot.

Midfielders: Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo.

Attackers: Bruno Fernandes, Amad, Hojlund.
