To put it simply, Man United are in shambles right now and after losing four games on the trot, the Red Devils will now have to travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool.

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table while United are sitting on the 14th spot, 23 points away from them. Ruben Amorim is trying really hard to make his players follow a proper system but things are going completely downhill for him at the moment.

Manchester United have looked dismal under their new manager and we are expecting no major miracles on Sunday either. The Red Devils have been unable to score in their last three outings and to make matters worse, they have not kept a clean sheet in their previous 8 matches.

It’s safe to say that United are staring at an embarrassing defeat on Sunday and they will be massively lucky even if they manage to come out of Anfield with a draw.

Manchester United’s team news and injuries:

The first big challenge for Amorim will be to set up his three-man central defence because one wrong selection and the likes of Diaz and Mo Salah will tear them apart.

Mazraoui on the right and Martinez on the left has worked best so far and we think the Man United manager will stick to this on Sunday. Harry Maguire has done fairly decently in the previous couple of matches and he should keep De Ligt on the bench.

Leny Yoro has featured in some capacity for Man United in their last five matches but the youngster will not be able to find a place in the starting lineup at Anfield. Yoro has not played badly since returning from his injury but we don’t think Ruben Amorim will want to risk using a 19-year-old against the likes of Salah, Diaz and Cody Gakpo.

Manuel Ugarte will be back in contention and will come straight into the starting XI alongside Kobbie Mainoo. Casemiro and Eriksen won’t be able to keep pace with Liverpool’s midfielders and they will be brought in only if Ruben Amorim needs to add creativity towards the end of the match.

Amad Diallo will return to his recently successful wing-back role with Diogo Dalot playing on the left-hand side. Dalot will have the task of tracking back and doubling up on Mo Salah and if the Portuguese cannot keep up Man United will surely leak goals from that end of the pitch.

If Amad is moving into the wing-back role that will allow Garnacho to come back into the side alongside Bruno Fernandes who also returns from a suspension. Marcus Rashford was back on the bench for Man United for the Newcastle game but the England international is not expected to get any major game time on Sunday.

Rashford is really fighting hard to get back onto the good books of Ruben Amorim but the new manager seems to have made up his mind on the Englishman’s future.

Joshua Zirkzee was booed off the pitch by the Old Trafford fans on Monday and it’s safe to say the summer signing will start on the bench at the weekend. Unfortunately, Rasmus Hojlund has also done very little to win any plaudits but the Dane can at least hold up play much better than Rashford and Zirkzee.

Man United predicted lineup vs Liverpool:

Goalkeeper: Andre Onana.

Defenders: Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Mazraoui.

Wing-backs: Amad, Diogo Dalot.

Midfielders: Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte.

Attackers: Bruno Fernandes, Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund.
