Man United are back in the Europa League this week where they take on Granada in the first-leg of the quarter-finals and the manager is expected to get a lot of players back from injury.

Eric Bailly tested positive for COVID while on international duty and the centre-back remains unavailable for Thursday’s game in Spain.

The manager said, as per the club’s official website: “He needs a negative test before he can come back to us. It’ll take the time that it takes unfortunately.

“That’s the world we live in at the moment and we’ve got to take the precautionary measures. Hopefully, Eric is still feeling okay The last time I spoke to him, he was alright.”

But apart from the defender, Man United have other positives going into the first leg with players like Alex Telles and Juan Mata back and available for selection in midweek. Marcus Rashford picked up a slight knock on Sunday vs Brighton but he too is fit enough to be named in the matchday squad.

“I can’t disclose my team now,” Ole said. “We’re not going to do that. Marcus is travelling and we have to make a decision tomorrow if he starts or is on the bench. I don’t think he’ll play the 90 minutes.”

“Marcus is okay-ish. He’s trained this morning. He’s available to be selected, as I said, either as a sub or a starter. Juan [Mata] is back training as is Alex [Telles], so we’re looking stronger definitely. We didn’t lose anyone last weekend against Brighton.”

With Luke Shaw deserving some rest, Telles will come back into the side at left-back but we doubt if the manager will risk using Marcus Rashford.

Man United have a really important game vs Spurs coming up next weekend and given that Granada are not a very strong side, Solskjaer could opt to keep the forward on the bench on Thursday.

This will mean that both Mason Greenwood, as well as Dan James, will get to start and there’s also a chance we get to see Amad Diallo and Anthony Elanga in action, some time during the 90 minutes.
