Man United did not have to sweat in the Europa League this week against Real Sociedad meaning most of the players will be well-rested when they face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

United have been in peak form away from home and they are currently undefeated in their last 19 away matches in the Premier League. Chelsea, themselves have hit a good patch of form under Thomas Tuchel but Man United are still the slight favourites going into this match.

Solskjaer has a few injury concerns to deal with and if these players are not back to full fitness in time then the manager will have to reuse most of the players who played against Sociedad on Thursday.

Man United are currently 10 points being league leaders Manchester City so they will need to pick up all three points on Sunday if they wish to keep the pressure on their arch-rivals.

Man United team news vs Chelsea:

Dean Henderson played in goal in midweek but David De Gea will come back into the side for the game against Chelsea.

Harry Maguire was given a much-deserved rest vs Sociedad and he too will come back into the line-up replacing Eric Bailly in defence.

Luke Shaw will replace Alex Telles on the left-hand side of defence while Aaron Wan-Bissaka will operate on the other side.

Scott McTominay is still recovering from his injury and there’s very little chance that he will be fit and available for selection on Sunday. If McTominay is not ready then Nemanja Matic will partner Fred in central midfield.

Paul Pogba is still a few weeks away from full fitness meaning he’s ruled out for the Chelsea game. Donny van de Beek is another player who is out injured but Ole does not use him in the Premier League too much so the manager will not be concerned.

Bruno Fernandes played the first half of the match on Thursday and the Portuguese will reprise his role in attacking midfield vs Chelsea as well.

Marcus Rashford came off the bench for the Europa League game but the England international will get a start in the final third alongside Mason Greenwood. Dan James picked up a muscle injury on Thursday and he looks all set to miss out.

Edinson Cavani is facing a race against time to be fit for Sunday’s game and if the South American is not ready then Solskjaer will once again have to choose the underperforming Anthony Martial as the main frontman.
