Man United team news vs Fulham: Bruno Fernandes to be rested?

Bruno Fernandes

Man United have suffered two losses in the Premier League last week and both these losses have come against top-six sides, first to Leicester City and then two days later against Liverpool.

Thankfully, these dropped points will not effect United’s top-four future but they will have the chance to redeem themselves when they face Fulham at home on Tuesday.

This will also be a really special occasion for the club since 10,000 fans will be allowed to enter the stadium so the Manchester United players will be able to play in front of their home fans for the first time in more than a year.

Fulham have failed to win 33 of their last 37 away matches in the Premier League and they have already been relegated to the Championship side so the Craven Cottage side will have nothing much to play for this week.

With a massive Europa League game coming up in a few day’s time, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sure to rest some of his first-team regular players in midweek so we expect to see a couple of the fringe players getting game time against Fulham and also vs Wolves next weekend.

Man United team news vs Fulham:

Dean Henderson will remain in goal but Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw are likely to be rested in midweek. Bailly is really injury-prone and he’s played two gruelling matches in the past week. And with Harry Maguire out injured, the last thing Ole will want is to lose Bailly as well.

Luke Shaw has been the first-choice left-back for Man United this season but Ole will rest him against Fulham meaning Alex Telles will come back into the side.

Paul Pogba has been playing as a winger in the past couple of matches but the Frenchman could drop into midfield which will allow Scott McTominay to get some much-deserved rest.

Fred and Nemanja Matic are both in contention and we will have to wait and see who Ole chooses.

Marcus Rashford has been playing non-stop football over the past two seasons and with the Europa League final coming up, the manager is surely going to keep him on the bench. Juan Mata could replace him on the right flank.

With Anthony Martial out injured both Edinson Cavani and Greenwood are expected to make it to the starting line-up. Bruno Fernandes is another player who deserves to be rested and with Donny van de Beek itching for game time, this could be the perfect opportunity to make this rotation.
