Man United team news vs Leicester City: Rashford to make a comeback?

Man United have made a rocky start to the 2021/22 campaign as so far, they have won just four out of their first seven Premier League matches. And if they are not careful enough, they could drop points once again this weekend.

On Saturday, Man United take on Leicester City, and they will need to pick up all three points in this match or else they are going to slide down from the top-four spot.

Solskjaer has come under scrutiny due to the way Man United are playing at home right now but as per the major sources, the owners are still backing the Norwegian. The United boss has been backed with big signings this summer so he’s got no major excuse left. He’ll need to pick up a win to calm the nerves inside Old Trafford but that will be easier said than done.

Leicester are a really strong side and Man United could be without some really key players on Saturday. So all the available players will have to give their 100% or else the Foxes could very easily tear them apart. Thankfully, United have a great away record in the Premier League so we expect a much better display than what they put out against Everton.

Man United team news vs Leicester City:

David De Gea has successfully reclaimed his No 1 spot so the Spaniard will start in goal on Saturday but the defensive line infront of him is expected to change.

Raphael Varane picked up a groin injury and Manchester United have confirmed that the centre-back will be out for a few weeks.

The statement read: “Raphael Varane sustained a groin muscle injury in the UEFA Nations League final and has commenced rehabilitation at the club.

“He will be out for a few weeks.”

Harry Maguire is also on the sidelines with an injury and is not expected to feature vs Leicester City. But according to a report in MEN, the England defender might just be fit in time to be available for selection.

We’ll have to keep an eye on this one but if Maguire is not ready then Eric Bailly and Lindelof will pair up in central defence.

Fred will miss out because he plays for Brazil on Friday meaning Paul Pogba will have to partner up with Scott McTominay in defensive midfield.

Mason Greenwood has made a very solid start to this campaign so we expect him to hold onto his place on the right flank while Bruno Fernandes operates in the No 10 role.

Marcus Rashford has been recovering from a shoulder injury but Solskjaer could get a big boost as the England international could be available for selection this weekend against Leicester City.

Jadon Sancho has been struggling to cope up with life in the Premier League but the manager is going to give him a role on the left-hand side of attack.

This is undoubtedly a big plus for the Man United boss but we doubt if Ole will use Rashford in such a crunch match. Cristiano Ronaldo starts up front.
