Man United have been in blistering form since the resumption of the 2019-20 season and they once again picked up all three points by beating Aston Villa away from home.

The 3-0 win means Man United are just one point behind the top-four and next up they take on Southampton – a team which have not beaten the Red Devils in their last eight encounters across all competitions.

The Saints go into this match having picked up two wins in their previous three matches(one of them a win against Manchester City) but the kind of form that Manchester United are in right now, no one really expects them to drop points at home.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has more or less a fully fit squad to choose from and given the number of games they have been playing, there could be a few changes to the starting XI. But we do not think the manager will opt to tweak his winning formula.

Man United team news vs Southampton:

Victor Lindelof fully recovered from his minor back injury and played in central defence against Villa and he will once again start alongside Harry Maguire on Monday.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw have been rock solid in defence and the full-backs will reprise their roles against the Saints. If the match is wrapped up early then Solskjaer could look to bring in Brandon Williams some time in the second half.

Nemanja Matic has been one of the standout performers for Man United since the restart but many experts think the manager should rest him by bringing in Scott McTominay into the side.

Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are more or less inseparable at this point in time and the duo is undoubtedly the first names on Ole’s teamsheet.

Marcus Rashford has scored just one goal since the restart and will be itching to pick up his pace since Anthony Martial is scoring at a rapid rate during the past couple of matches.

Young Mason Greenwood has been the talk of the town and the teenager once again put his name on the scoresheet against Aston Villa. He has already scored 16 goals this season and will be looking to up that tally against the Saints on Monday night.
