Man United got off to a flying start in the Premier League, beating Leeds United 5-1 in matchweek one and now they face Southampton in their first away game of the season.

The Red Devils will have their tails up after their fine performance last weekend but they will need to back that win with another three points, especially since clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool have also started strongly.

The last time these two sides met, Man United ended up winning that match 9-0 but we do not expect to see a repeat of that scoreline this time around. But having said that, the kind of form that United are in, a big margin win is not a day dream at all.

Solskjaer has almost a full-strength squad to choose from but since several players have joined late, the manager will have to make the key decision whether to introduce them slowly or to give them start this weekend only.

Man United team news vs Southampton:

David De Gea started in goal for Manchester United in their first match but it will be interesting to see who will Ole choose now that Henderson is back. We have a feeling, the manager will stick with De Gea.

Raphael Varane was unveiled in front of the Old Trafford crowd last weekend and the fans will be itching to see him start in defence alongside Harry Maguire. But the manager is not likely to push him into the starting line-up against the Saints. Lindelof should be partnering with Maguire once again.

Fred and McTominay are the first-choice central midfielders that are playing for Man United since the previous season and they are once again going to start in matchweek two.

This means Donny van de Beek and Matic will have to be content with a place on the bench.

Bruno Fernandes was one of the stars for Manchester United last weekend as he scored a hat-trick and he is obviously a guaranteed starter in that No 10 role.

With Marcus Rashford out for a few weeks, Paul Pogba will once again get to play in that left winger’s role, something which is performed so brilliantly against Leeds United.

Jadon Sancho came off the bench against Leeds and we are almost certain that Ole will hand him a starting role this weekend at the St Mary’s Stadium.

Anthony Martial is also match-ready but we don’t think the Man United boss will be dropping Mason Greenwood to the bench after his fine performance last weekend.
