After a fine start to the 21/22 Premier League season against Leeds, Man United stumbled at the St Mary’s last weekend courtesy of a 1-1 draw.

And these two dropped points means Manchester United have to pick up a win Wolves this weekend or else they could go into the international break four points behind the league leaders.

Wolves are under the guidance of a new manager and they have lost both their opening matches so far. This means that United should be eyeing an easy three-pointer on Sunday despite this being an away game. But then, we said the same thing for the Southampton game as well.

Ole took some slow and poor tactical decisions during that Saints draw which is why the manager will now have to get it right with his team selection and substitutions just to make everyone realise that he is very much in control.

Man United team news vs Wolves:

Dean Henderson is back to full fitness and he will be pushing for a spot this weekend. But so far, De Gea has not put a foot wrong so we expect him to continue in goal vs Wolves.

Raphael Varane had a watching brief last weekend but he is most likely to get his first start of Man United since joining the club. The Frenchman is going to replace Victor Lindelof.

Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will hold onto his spot but the midfield area could see a major reshuffle.

Fred was the most average player on the pitch in that 1-1 draw for Man United and he is surely going to move to the bench for this one. Ideally, Scott McTominay would be the one coming back but the club have confirmed that the midfielder will be out for a few weeks after undergoing surgery for a groin issue.

A club statement read: “Scott has undergone surgery for an ongoing groin injury that was causing significant pain when playing.

“Having tried all other treatment options in pre-season, surgery was deemed necessary to resolve the issue. We hope to have him back soon.”

With McTominay ruled out and Fred hitting rock bottom maybe Solskjaer will finally hand Donny van de Beek his first start of the season alongside Nemanja Matic.

But don’t be too astonished if Ole fancies bringing Pogba back into midfield and use Martial on the left flank.

Jadon Sancho came off the bench against Southampton but the summer signing is surely going to get a start at the Molineux on Sunday.

Martial had a really pitiful outing vs the Saints so we expect him to drop to the bench. Edinson Cavani is fully fit and raring to go but we have a feeling Ole is going to stick with Mason Greenwood up front.
