Man United take on Aston Villa in the FA Cup 3rd round on Monday and manager Ralf Rangnick has a clear vision as to what he wants to do in this game.

United have hit rock-bottom in their previous few matches and there have been whispers that amidst all the chaos and rumoured revolts, this FA Cup tie is a great opportunity for the interim boss to rest some of his big-name players.

But the German has made it clear that none of that is going to happen as he plans to name his best starting line-up vs Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

He told MUTV: “We will definitely not play with eight or nine different players. Or even 10, as we did against Young Boys in the Champions League.

“We will try to play with the best possible team, with a strong team. There might be a few changes but I haven’t taken the final decisions yet myself. We will definitely try to play this game as if it was a normal Premier League or Champions League game.”

Will Man United lose the plot vs Aston Villa as well?

Under Steven Gerrard, Aston Villa has been playing some eye-catching football and with the kind of form Man United are in right now, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Villa manage to knock them out.

A lot of pundits are predicting that Ralf Rangnick is going to use a second-fiddle side on Monday by giving the benchwarmers some game time. But we are more than certain that most of the regular starters will feature from the very first minute.

Rumours of players being unhappy have been doing the rounds for a few days so this is the perfect game for the interim boss to name his strongest XI and send out a message that everything is well.

Rangnick has done all the hard-talking in front of the press but sadly his words are not being embodied by the players on the pitch.

Players like Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes are surely going to feature in the first XI on Monday but there’s also an outside chance that someone like Donny van de Beek or Jesse Lingard gets game time as well.

The German is unquestionably in charge until the end of this season but Monday’s FA Cup game will probably demarcate whether Man United can turn this poor form around or are they plunging down the Arsenal lane.
