Liverpool will head to Old Trafford on Monday to take on Manchester United and the Reds has a long list of injury-absentees.

Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher are all going to miss this match due to various injuries while Darwin Nunez is going to be suspended after he picked up a red card last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp will not only be under massive stress to name his best starting line up but with so many absentees the Liverpool manager will also have very limited bench strength.

Joel Matip and Konate are both unavailable so either Nat Phillps or Joe Gomez is going to partner Van Dijk in central defence and this will be a cause of concern for the manager. If Ronaldo manages to target Van Dijk’s defensive partner then the Reds could be in deep trouble.

Nunez, Jota and Thiago’s absence is also an issue but the manager has claimed that Bobby Firmino and Naby Keita are back to full fitness and the duo will be available for selection on Monday.

“Bobby trained completely normal, is ready,” said the boss in his pre-match press conference.

“Naby was ill for a week, last game on the bench, is fully in training, looks really good. All fine.”

Despite all the injuries, Liverpool are still very much the favourites to win against their arch-rivals but with so many major players missing, Man United are in with a chance to pick up something from this game.

Liverpool have picked up two draws so far this season so they will need to win this one to make sure Manchester City don’t run away with the Premier League title.

The way Manchester United are playing right now, this one should be an easy win for Liverpool, despite all the injuries but after losing two matches, the home side will definitely throw the kitchen sink at them so Jurgen Klopp and his boys need to be extra careful.
