According to a report in the Daily Mail, Man United along with Everton and Chelsea are interested in signing VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic.

The 25-year-old has been with Stuttgart since 2019 and to date, he’s scored 24 goals in 57 appearances. His current deal with the club expires in 2023 and per the reports, he is available for around £15 million.

During the 2020/21 season, he scored 16 goals in 33 games but he failed to back it up last campaign, where he managed only 15 appearances, scoring just six goals.

Will the 25-year-old be a sensible option for either of the PL club?

Man United’s forward line was laid bare on Sunday in front of Brighton so currently, they are being linked with all sorts of forwards. They have been interested in Benjamin Sesko for some time and on Sunday itself, they have been linked with ex-West Ham man Marko Arnautovic.

Now that they are keeping tabs on Sasa Kalajdzic, it goes on to show how desperate Erik ten Hag is right now.

Chelsea are also floating on the same boat because they have allowed Romelu Lukaku to join Inter Milan and Timo Werner is also leaving for Germany. There’s no way Tuchel can rely on Kai Havertz so the Blues can certainly do with someone like Kalajdzic.

Everton’s Richarlison join Spurs and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is out injured which is why Frank Lampard is also on the lookout for a centre-forward.

Which PL team is more likely to sign the forward?

Man United are being linked with all sorts of strikers so it’s really hard to predict whom they will go for but as things stand, Benjamin Sesko seems to be their most realistic target.

Chelsea are also interested in Sesko and if they miss out on him then Tuchel can go after Sasa Kalajdzic in the coming days.

As far as Everton are concerned, they could actually be the favourites to sign the forward because, for both Man United and Chelsea, Kalajdzic is definitely the backup plan. They will look into him only when they miss out on their primary targets meaning Everton have time to wrap up this transfer before that.
