Here are the Manchester United players’ ratings during the Liverpool vs Man Utd game:

David De Gea: 9/10

Did not have much to do throughout the match but made one world class save was one of the main reasons why United walked home with one point.

Phil Jones: 7.5/10

Marshalled the defensive line pretty well but he along with Smalling was caught napping on a few occassion when the Liverpool players got behind them.

Chris Smalling: 7/10

Smalling provided good support to Phil Jones in defence and came up with a decent performance in the absence of Eric Bailly.

Matteo Darmian: 7/10

Darmain was the third defender that Mourinho had deployed at Anfield and he too like Smalling did his job pretty well apart from the final few minutes of the match where he was struggling with cramp and had Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain running down at him with pace.

Antonio Valencia: 7/10

Valencia was deployed in midfield and acted more as a defender. He took did his job pretty well but while going forward he looked a bid cluesless.

Ashley Young: 7.5/10

Young was also deployed in midfield but unlike Valencia he more forward a bit more.

Nemanja Matic: 6.5/10

Matic looked unconvincing for most part of the game. While his defensive aspect was spot on but while helping ou in attack he did nothing special. Also lot possession a couple of times.

Ander Herrera: 7.5/10

Played at the heart of midfield and played with the same level of conviction all throughout the match.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: 6/10

The Armenian was given very little time on the ball and had very little to work with throughout the match. Was taken off on the hour mark.

Anthony Martial: 7.5/10

Martial was chosen ahead of Rashford simply because of his tracking back abilities. While he did not do much while going forward but he properly supported his defenders.

Romelu Lukaku: 7/10

To be honest the Belgium received very little service as well as support. But he did get one clear cut chance in the first half which he should have tucked into the back of the net.
