Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is planning to sue sportswear giants New Balance for giving his ‘poor quality’ playing boots.

The Belgian International signed a four-year boot deal with the company but is demanding damages after they walked away from a new £600,000-a-year contract. Fellaini has said that the boots given to him were of ‘poor quality’ and needed to be ‘steamed and stretched’ by United’s kitman before he could wear them.

Fellaini also claimed that the boots caused his foot “considerable damage” and that he “repeatedly communicated his frustration”.

His lawyers say that they are also suing for “loss of enjoyment, inconvenience and impact on performance” caused by the boots.

New Balance though claims that Fellaini had at one point of time described the boots as perfect and had even ordered 12 more pairs.

At first, Fellaini wasn’t being able to fit into the United team and now he can’t fit into his shoes.

Bizarre.
