The major leagues in world football are coming up with crazy ideas every season and the latest one seems to have come from the English FA.
According to reports, managers will receive yellow and red cards for behaviour-related-incidents during matches.
As of now this new experiment of branding managers with cards will be trailed in the Football League, National League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.
This rule will not be applicable to the Premier League and the managers there will only receive a verbal warning for their failure to obey the rules.
EFL Chief Executive Shaun Harvey said: “This isn’t about creating drama, this is about creating clarity, so everybody inside the stadium knows what is happening,
“You will be seeing it in the EFL as a first and it will be an interesting experience to see how it works.”
The managers will receive yellow and red cards for any incident that is not in accordance with the referee’s rulebook. And this line has got the fans a bit worried.
So what incidents can be deemed to be outside the referee’s rulebook?
Fans have come out in protest of this rule saying that incidents such as a sarcastic clap, kicking the water bottle or even asking the referee/linesman/fourth official too many questions to lead to a booking.
And fans have been voicing their concern ever since.
Managers can now get a yellow card for bad language and sarcastic clapping, Klopp is fucked 😂 #LFC #Klopp

Interesting news that Red and Yellow cards will be shown to Managers in Championship, Leagues 1&2 plus the Bational League this season. This experiment will result in a Manager been shown a yellow card for either throwing or kicking a water bottle plus dissent etc

I've just seen the criteria for the Red and Yellow cards for managers and kicking water bottles is actually included.
Like seriously, if a manager kicks a water bottle he's going to get a yellow card. What is happening to football??

The FA have not clarified as to how long this trial period will run but as things stand the whole of the 2018-19 season will decide if this rule of booking managers is going to work in the Premier League or not.
