Manchester City back to winning ways after FA Cup win

0

Manchester City got back to winning ways after having a terrible fifteen odd days. They defeated Crystal Palace in their FA Cup fourth-round match by 3-0 to progress to the next round.

The win comes as a huge respite to Pep Guardiola as he was constantly under pressure for the past few weeks. Man City were not performing up to the mark and they were winless in their past two matches. But that all changed in this match.

First Half lead:

City scored a goal just before half-time courtesy of Raheem Sterling who was found wonderfully with a through ball from new signing Gabriel Jesus.

Bossing around:

It was an overall wonderful performance from the whole Man City team but two players were absolutely top draw. Yaya Toure and David Silva. Toure dominated and bossed the midfield for the whole of the match. And he was ultimately rewarded with a goal in the dying minutes of the game.

David Silva was another star performer of the night as he set up Sane for City’s second goal. He was sublime in the midfield but should have scored a goal when he volleyed a shot. But it was unfortunately straight at the keeper.

David Silva was in fine form as he played some great football.

A tougher task lies ahead:

This win and that so confidently will definitely ease a lot of nerves in the blue half of Manchester as of now. But Guardiola very well realises that the road ahead is a lot tougher. With United breathing down their neck Guardiola’s current aim would be to secure a top four spot as soon as possible. City travel to West Ham on the 2nd of February for their Premier League clash.
