Argentina have had one of their worst ever starts to a World Cup campaign and now the South American side are on the brink of exiting the tournament in the Group Stages.

Lionel Messi’s side started their campaign with a rather shocking 1-1 draw against Iceland and if that was not enough to set the tongues wagging, they then went onto lose 3-0 to Croatia.

Croatia now have one step in the knockout stages which means that the second place is up for grabs.

Nigeria did do Argentina a favour by defeating Iceland and now Messi’s team have to win against the Super Eagles in order to have a shot at playing in the knockout stages.

There have been numerous debates as to why Argentina have been performing so poorly with some blaming Messi’s poor form with other blaming the coach’s bad selections.

Now though there seems to be another theory that has been doing the rounds and once you hear it, you are sure to be taken aback.

Argentine paper La Nacion have gone on to claim that Isreal’s intelligence agency Mossad are the reason behind Lionel Messi’s poor form.

Yes, you read that right.

The paper published this conspiracy theory on Sunday and since then it has been spreading like wildfire.

Many fans in Argentina are no starting to believe that Mossad is one of the main reasons why Messi has failed to deliver in this World Cup.

This conspiracy theory obviously stems from the recently cancelled friendly between Argentina and Isreal which was scheduled to be held in Jerusalem.

The match against Isreal was supposed to be Argentina’s final practice game before they headed for the World Cup but it was cancelled after calls for Lionel Messi shirts and pictures to be burned had surfaced.
