Here’s why Arsenal and Spurs still have a chance of signing this 27 Y/O midfielder despite interest from Bayern

Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping tabs on RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer but recently they were pushed to the back seat thanks to Bayern Munich.

Julian Nagelsmann wants to bring his former captain to Bayern Munich and it was pretty obvious the midfielder would choose a move to the Allianz Arena instead of the English top division.

But now, as per Sky Germany, Bayern Munich will not find it easy to get their hands on him since the club needs to offload a few players before they can afford to bring in Marcel Sabitzer this summer.

Also, the top brass at Bayern are not sure the 27-year-old will end up as a world-class talent during his peak years.

Can Arsenal or Spurs sign Marcel Sabitzer?

Marcel Sabitzer has one more year left on his current deal so Leipzig are ready to let him leave for a dirt cheap price.

But despite that, we do not think the two North London sides will have a walk in the park in terms of signing the 27-year-old.

Bayern Munich will remain the favourites to land him until they do not scrap their transfer plan. But since Nagelsmann is so interested in reuniting with Sabitzer, we don’t think the club will douse their interest in him so easily.

As per the rumours, Leipzig will be ready to accept around £16 million for Marcel Sabitzer and the only way either Arsenal or Spurs will be able to sign him is if Bayern Munich refuse to meet these demands.

Leipzig want add-ons with this initial payment and this is something Bayern could refuse since the midfielder has already entered the final year of his contract.

For clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham, this arrangement should not be a major problem since they are working on a limited budget this time around.

Marcel Sabitzer has decided not to sign a new deal with Leipzig which is why the German side are in such a hurry to cash in on him this summer. And this urgency could come in the use of the two North London sides, especially since Bayern Munich are still making up their mind.

The Austrian joined RB Leipzig in 2014 and he is currently valued at £37.8 million according to TransferMarkt.
