Man United head to the Amex Stadium this weekend and their manager has confirmed that Marcus Rashford and Eric Bailly are going to miss this tie.

It was earlier thought that Harry Maguire will be out for the rest of the season but in his press conference, Rangnick has communicated that the defender has returned to training and will be available for selection this weekend.

“Harry is back in training,” confirmed interim boss Ralf Rangnick. “He trained the whole week, since the day after or the second day after the Brentford game, he resumed for training. So, he will be available for tomorrow and be part of the group.”

This is a big plus for the Man United boss but this news was immediately followed by the update that Eric Bailly and Marcus Rashford will both be absentees this weekend.

He added: “Marcus Rashford will be missing, he has caught bronchitis with high temperatures so he won’t be able to be part of the group.

“We have a question mark behind Eric Bailly, he called the doctor this morning and had some back problems – problems with his back – and he’s being checked right now. We’ll have to see if he will be able to train afterwards.”

Will Marcus Rashford be out for the rest of the season?

Rashford’s current status is not looking good and since Manchester United have only two more games to play this season, the England international might have already played his final match of the campaign.

Marcus Rashford has been really poor this season so this early break could really help him sort his head out before Erik ten Hag arrives at the club.

There were rumours that Marcus Rashford had shown a desire to leave in the summer but he’s since backtracked on that decision after ETH’s announcement.

It’s clear that the 24-year-old wants to succeed at Man United and maybe what he needs right now, is some time away from football where he can just relax and recharge his batteries.
