Marcus Rashford has been a stellar figure this season for Manchester United but the honest reality is that the forward has played an awful lot of matches – the impact looks even more severe when you think that the summer break was also a short one.

So far, Man United have played 30 Premier League matches this season and Rashford has started in 28 of those while coming off the bench in the rest of the two games.

And with the Euros coming up shortly, many people think Solskjaer should be using his premier frontman a bit more sensibly, more so since he had picked up an injury scare just last week.

Marcus Rashford was taken off after 66 minutes vs Granada in midweek but the manager has come out to make it clear that the 23-year-old is perfectly fit(hinting at an obvious start against Spurs on Sunday).

“I don’t think you need to be concerned about his fitness,” Solskjaer told in his press conference. “Of course, barring any injury. No, his fitness is really good.

“He’s an athletic boy, he’s a fit boy, strong boy, you can see tonight when he goes into headers and challenges, he can look after himself.

“But, at one point, of course you hope to get to a position where he doesn’t have to play every game, every minute and, at the moment, of course we have to take him off because his foot is a little bit sore.

“So hopefully that’ll improve as the season goes on because I think he was better tonight than he was on Sunday.”

Anthony Martial is possibly ruled out for the remainder of the season and this is a big reason why Ole just cannot afford to bench Rashford on Sunday.

Man United need to consolidate that second spot on the league table and if they need all three points against Tottenham then Marcus Rashford has to be on in the starting XI.

While exhaustion is certainly a big issue for the young forward but Solskjaer will not be too worried about how England are going to perform in the Euros. So, if he is fully fit then the academy graduate is going to feature very prominently for the remainder of the season.
