If everything goes well then 23-year-old winger Marcus Thuram could become the first summer signing for Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, as per RMC Sport.

Marcus Thuram currently plays for Borussia Monchengladbach but with two years left on his current deal, the German club are now ready to cash in on him.

The report claims: “According to information from RMC Sport, Marcus Thuram is in talks with Tottenham, who have made the 23-year-old French striker his priority.

“According to information from RMC Sport, he is currently in talks with Tottenham. The English club have made Lilian Thuram’s son their priority. Sources close to the English club explain that the discussions have advanced in recent days.”

Will Marcus Thuram become the first signing for Tottenham?

Marcus Thuram was bought by the Bundesliga side in the summer of 2019 from French side Guingamp for a fee in the region of £8 million. And in these past three years, he has grown steadily, making 79 appearances for the club across all competitions.

During the 2020-21 season, the left-winger played in 29 league games for Monchengladbach and managed to score eight goals and provide seven assists. And perhaps one of the biggest plus points for the 23-year-old is that apart from playing as a winger, Thuram can also play as a centre-forward.

He will undoubtedly be a nice backup addition to the Spurs side but with Son and Kane in the side, the French international will only be available off the bench.

According to TransferMarkt, Marcus Thuram is valued at £31.50 million so it will be interesting to see how much the Bundesliga side quote for him. Plus since he is not likely to be a regular feature we will also have to wait and watch just how much Spurs willing be willing to spend for him.
