Anthony Martial reacts to transfer rumours

Two seasons ago Man Utd signed Anthony Martial from Monaco in a big money and high profile move. The transfer made the whole world look up and take notice as many people thought that United had paid way too much for a relatively unknown footballer.

But Martial made most of his critics eat their words as he had a dream debut scoring against arch-rivals Liverpool. And then the young Frenchman went on to have a wonderful first season with the club. Forcing everyone to believe that the boy was certainly a long term investment.

But then Martial’s honeymoon period ended and he came crashing down to earth. Under new boss Jose Mourinho he found it really hard to get first team starts as the manager preferred Marcus Rashford over the Frenchman. And the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not help either. And most of Martial’s performances were limited from the bench and he noticeably failed to impress his new manager.

He did get a fair amount of first team starts though towards the end of the season after Ibrahimovic got injured. But he did little to impress his manager. And as the season came to an end numerous rumours flooded in that Mourinho was ready to sell the player off.

But now Martial has taken it upon himself to clear the air about these rumours.

The 21-year-old French international posted a tweet on his official handle stating that all the rumours about his transfer are totally false.

Martial reacts to transfer rumours:

Arsenal who are most likely to lose Olivier Giroud had reportedly shown interest in Marital and wanted to sign him up. And with Man Utd chasing Ivan Perisic the rumours just grew stronger. But now with this tweet Martial has cleared all the doubts and he is going nowhere. It looks as if he has decided to stay back and fight for his place in the team.
