Martin Odegaard has been a revelation ever since he moved to Arsenal on a loan deal from Real Madrid and according to ESPN, a number of clubs are suddenly showing a keen interest in signing him during the upcoming transfer window.

Arsenal obviously want to make the loan deal permanent at the end of this season and Mikel Arteta has dropped multiple hints about wanting the player at the Emirates beyond the summer. But now, teams like Chelsea, Liverpool and even PSG want him.

The transfer gossip cites an exclusive report from the Daily Star saying: “Arsenal are very keen to strike a permanent deal for midfielder Martin Odegaard once his loan deal from Real Madrid expires in the summer.

“However, the Daily Star reports that Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG have entered the race for the Norway international and his valuation has gone from €35m to €55m in just a few weeks.”

Will Martin Odegaard return to Real Madrid or join a new side?

Martin Odegaard is slated to return to Real Madrid at the end of this season but if Zinedine Zidane remains at the helm then the 22-year-old has no future at the Bernabeu.

Football Insider claim: “Arsenal have been given a huge boost in their bid to sign Martin Odegaard permanently by Zinedine Zidane, Football Insider has learned.

“A recruitment source has told Football Insider there is encouragement for Arsenal behind the scenes as Odegaard will be sold or loaned out by Real in the summer window if Zidane remains the manager.

“It is said that the manager “doesn’t like or want” Odegaard and will happily sanction his departure.”

Arsenal are obviously the frontrunners in signing Martin Odegaard on a permanent deal but with clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG, the youngster will have the chance to play in the Champions League next season. He has already hinted that he wants to play for a club where he has stability and gets regular playing time.

And Arsenal are the only club that can offer him that luxury right now.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool have multiple playmakers in the first-team squad and if Martin Odegaard does decide to join either one of them then he will have to prove himself all over again.

PSG have other priority signings in the summer which is why they are not likely to push for Martin Odegaard with all their might.

The Norwegian has done really well for the Gunners in such a short span of time and Arteta will love to hold onto him on a permanent basis but with so many big clubs now showing an interest, the North London club have to pull the rabbit out of the hat.

Convincing Odegaard should not be a problem but Arsenal will have to shell out a lot of money if they wish to hold onto the youngster and this is something that will be a real struggle for Mikel Arteta.
