Chelsea Mason Mount Olivier Giroud

Mason Mount could be on his way out of Chelsea this summer and the midfielder is eager to play for Manchester United rather than Arsenal, according to The Independent.

Mount’s contract with the Blues expires in 2024 but if he does not sign a new deal this summer then Chelsea will cash in on him rather than risk losing him as a free agent.

Chelsea have already offered him a new deal but Mount is reportedly not happy with the terms, indicating that he wishes to play for a new club.

Arsenal have finished second on the Premier League table after narrowly missing out on the title but as per the rumours, Mount wants to play under Erik ten Hag because the midfielder is a fan of Man United’s style of play this season.

Is it a big blow for Arsenal if Mason Mount chooses Man United?

Arsenal are back in the Champions League which is why Mikel Arteta needs midfield reinforcements and if someone as talented as Mason Mount rejects them then it will be a big dent in their reputation.

The Gunners already have Odegaard on their books but Arteta will need another number 8 if they want to seriously compete in the league and in Europe next season.

Manchester United will want an upgrade to Christian Eriksen next campaign and someone like Mason Mount will be the ideal heir. Ten Hag is very clear about what kind of players he wants at Old Trafford and because the Chelsea man is valued at only 55 million pounds, the United management won’t say no to their manager.

Obviously, Chelsea haven’t given up hope because Pochettino will definitely have a word with the midfielder regarding his future but if Mount does end up leaving Stamford Bridge then he’s clearly hinted that he will want to move to Manchester rather than join Chelsea’s London rivals.
