Arsenal manager has totally turned around the Arsenal squad within just a couple of months and everyone is praising the former PSG boss for his skills of reading the game.

But one more thing that he deserves credit for is the fact that he has made a number of great signings during the summer transfer window.

And perhaps the biggest of them was Lucas Torreira – a player who has quickly turned into one of the favourites amongst the Arsenal fans.

Apart from Torreira, there is one more player who deserves as much credit is fellow midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The 19-year-old has been a hit at Arsenal whenever called up and the Frenchman looks to be one for the long run.

It is quite hard to believe that just a couple of months ago, Matteo Guendouzi was playing in Ligue 2 for Lorient and now he is enthralling crowds in England.

And now the midfielder has revealed that Arsenal were not the only club who were interested in signing him up during the summer transfer window.

“It is true that PSG were very interested, like other teams, there were a lot of discussions, but for me, the best decision I could make was to join Arsenal,” Guendouzi said.

“Once they positioned themselves, I didn’t hesitate, I orientated myself in that direction. I think when I was young I watched a lot of Arsenal, but the fact that there are a lot of French guys there played a big role.”

Matteo Guendouzi actually started his youth career at PSG but he left the club to join Lorient in 2014.

Last season he played just 21 games in all competitions for the Ligue 2 side but clearly, Arsenal knew the talent was there in the youngster since then had been scouting Matteo Guendouzi for a long time.
