Premier League side Arsenal have been linked with an interest in Barcelona forward Memphis Depay but it seems like this deal is not going to happen, as suggested by Diario Sport.
Memphis Depay is out of contract at Barcelona next summer and there were rumours that the club is open to selling him during the ongoing transfer window.
However, the player is reluctant to leave and is now ready to sign a new three-year deal which will keep him at Camp Nou until 2025. He’s supposedly happy with Barcelona’s future plans and is ready to commit himself to a fresh deal.
Not the result we wanted to give the fans at home but we kept fighting.
Missed the opportunity to finish the game with the last minute penalty but those things happen in football…
We never give up!

Will Barcelona offer him a new contract?
Memphis Depay was Barca’s joint top scorer last season, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and if he is ready to stay then the club will obviously offer him a new contract.
Barca are going through a financial crisis but they will not want to sell a player who is in his prime and that too for a bargain transfer fee.
He was a prolific scorer for Lyon and at Barcelona, he’s already scored 13 goals in 38 games across all competitions and he’s a major asset for the club because he can play as a centre-forward, a winger and also as an out-and-out striker.
Arsenal set to miss out on Memphis Depay?
Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on Depay’s contract situation but if he agrees to a new deal then the Gunners are not likely to make a move.
The Gunners were chasing the 28-year-old solely because he would have been available on a bargain deal but the talks of a new contract throw this possibility right out of the window.
The report does suggest that Barcelona are still open to selling Memphis Depay if a big offer comes in but we don’t think Arsenal will be too enthusiastic to shell out a massive transfer for the Dutch international.
