Arsenal are desperate to get Mesut Ozil off their wage bill before the new season begins and as per The Mirror, the Gunners have devised another plan to send him out.

The report states: “Arsenal will make a new push to reach an agreement over Mesut Ozil’s £18m contract nightmare.

“They are ready to make an offer to pay him off and reach a deal or subsidise his £350,000-a-week wages if he moves to another club.

“Ozil, 31, has one year left on his deal, does not want to leave Arsenal and is ready to sit tight but the club want to find a compromise to help free up money in their wage bill for transfer business this summer.

“It has turned into a financial headache for Arsenal as the club want to shake up the squad this summer with Chelsea’s Brazilian forward Willian set to sign while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been offered a new three-year deal to stay.”

Mesut Ozil has not featured for Arsenal since the resumption of the season after the lockdown and it’s quite evident that the manager has no intentions of using him next season either.

But, at the same time, the playmaker has no intentions of moving out this summer as he wants to see out his current deal at the club.

Right now, Mesut Ozil is the highest-earning player at Arsenal and until the Gunners can offload him, there’s no way they can offer the payrise to Aubameyang or bring in players like Thomas Partey.

Not a lot of clubs are interested in signing Mesut Ozil during the ongoing transfer window which is why the Premier League now want to mediate with the German international in trying to persuade him to leave.

During the 2019-20 season, Ozil played in only 18 league matches for the club, scoring one and assisting two goals.
