Mkhitaryan Not Fit For Man Utd & Other Things That We Learned From United’s Win Against Spurs

Manchester United picked up a big win against Tottenham Hotspur and here are some of the few things that we learned from the match:

Spurs are a bit clueless without Harry Kane:

Pochettinho had to come into Old Trafford without Harry Kane and this proved a major problem for the Lilywhites. The manager decided to leave his other striker Llorente on the bench and opted to start the match with Son as the striker. But clearly, that did not work out really well for Spurs. The South Korean had a brilliant work rate but that was about it. He provided absolutely nothing inside the box and all he did was frantically run around the pitch. While Spurs played their usual sleek brand of football in midfield but they had no one to look up to in the final third. And with Mourinho effectively shutting down Alli and Eriksen for most of the match, Spurs looked clueless when it came to scoring a goal. This match will definitely be an eye-opener for the manager and all the fans about the importance of Harry Kane. Without Kane, Spurs seriously do not look a team that can win the Premier League.

Mkhitaryan is a show-piece that Mourinho can’t have on his table:

The former Dortmund maestro is just not fit for the Premier League. And that is the harsh reality. He will work wonders when he is given a bit of space and time to work his magic. But as soon as teams start applying pressure the Armenian looks a shadow of his brilliant self. He keeps losing the ball on almost every instance and his tracking back is not that great either. While everyone thinks of his a big game player but we personally think that he is a player who is apt for breaking down and crushing smaller teams. All in all a player who cannot come at par with the physicality of the English game.

Bailly and Jones are one of the best defensive pairs in the league – whether you accept it or not:

Mourinho finally had the luxury of starting with his preferred defensive pairing of Jones and Bailly – alongside Smalling of course. And both those players did not disappoint. The two look the perfect combination of strength and agility. Bailly, on one hand, uses his brute strength to wade of the attackers while Jones, on the other hand, manages to win almost every ariel duel that is thrown at him. If both these players manage to stay fit then Mourinho will definitely have one less area to worry about in the future.
