Morata transfer to collapse if Ronaldo decides to leave Madrid

Reports have been coming in from Spain that Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way out of Real Madrid. And if that eventually happens then the Alvaro Morata transfer could fall flat on its face.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Spain largely because of the tax fraud allegations. Or atleast that is the initial report. But if it eventually does prove to be true then Manchester United might just suffer a huge blow.

United are in hot pursuit of out-of-favour Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. And it is believed that Man Utd and Morata have already agreed to personal terms and finals negotiations with Real are left to be done. But this news of Ronaldo will certainly halt the transfer proceedings.

The Morata transfer saga has been going on for a rather long time. United’s first bid was promptly rejected by Mardid. Forcing them to make a revised bid. And now when it looks as if all had been done this news comes as a major setback.

The Morata transfer could collapse if Ronaldo decides to leave Real Madrid this summer.

If Zinedine Zidane does eventually lose Cristiano Ronaldo then there is no way that he will let the Morata transfer go ahead. Real brought back Morata from Juventus by triggering a buyback clause. But since returning to the Bernabeu, the Spaniard has more or less played second fiddle. Last season he made most of his appearances as a substitute while on other occasions he was just warming the benches.

Mourinho, on the other hand, is a long time admirer of Morata. Having handed the youngster his senior debut at Madrid. And the United coach is also desperate to sign a new striker since he has already decided not to give Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new contract.

And now if the Morata transfer fizzles out then United will quickly have to find a new alternative striker to bring into the team. But with such an inflated transfer market it is much easier said than done though.
