Ex-French international Thierry Henry has come out and said that Jose Mourinho has not used Paul Pogba properly in this season.

Paul Pogba returned to Manchester United last summer after his world record fee transfer from Juventus. And since arriving at United, Pogba has been subject to a lot of criticism. The French international has not yet reached the heights which he achieved while playing for Juve.

Now ex-Arsenal player Henry has come out and said that Pogba’s positioning in midfield has been the main reason as to why he could not perform.

“It was always going to be difficult for Paul Pogba” Henry told Sky Sports.

“They don’t use Pogba where he should be playing – he’s not a holding midfielder. He likes to play higher or of the left.”

As per Henry, Manchester United are losing in on Pogba’s attacking endeavours because he is playing way too deep. He also blamed Paul Pogba’s high price tag as another point towards the criticisms that the Frenchman has faced.

Henry feels if United could bring in someone in the summer with a higher price tag then the limelight will certainly move away from Paul Pogba.

Apart from the criticism, if United manage to win the Europa League then Jose Mourinho will have had a successful first season at the club.

Henry added: “Are they entertaining? Are they a nice side to watch? At the end of the day, it will be the EFL Cup and the Europa League – if they win it.”

“Then they will be in the Champions League and it will be a successful season. Whether you like Jose Mourinho or not, it will be a successful season.”
