Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in signing goalkeeper Neto from FC Barcelona and as per Mundo Deportivo, it’s the Gunners are currently standing at the front of the queue.

The 32-year-old wishes to move out of Barcelona this summer and he does not have a problem in joining either Arsenal or Spurs. But, as things stand, Mikel Arteta’s side are more serious about signing him.

The report claims: “The Premier League now appears as the only possible destination and Arsenal and Tottenham would be fighting for his hiring although the conditions would be slowing down any type of agreement.

“At Barça they insist that his departure is entrenched, but they admit that he is one of the players with options to leave. Arsenal has taken a step forward and they are determined to bet heavily on him, although there is still a long way to go before the operation is closed.

“The Premier League attracts him and he does not care Arsenal or Tottenham, the other team that is interested in his signing.”

Neto heading to Arsenal or Spurs?

This is not the first time Arsenal have tried to sign the 32-year-old as they made a move for him at the start of this year but somehow a deal could not materialize.

With Rúnarsson failing to shine, the Gunners have once again stepped up their interest in Neto as they plan to bring in an apt back-up for Bernd Leno.

Tottenham are also in the mix but the Lilywhites are keeping tabs on Atalanta keeper Pierluigi Gollini and maybe that is why they are yet to make any sort of concrete move for the Barcelona man.

Neto was signed for £23 million but he’s turned out to be a failed project for Barcelona which is why the Catalans are ready to sell him off for a bargain price.

The 32-year-old obviously does not seem to have any major preferences meaning whichever club makes the first concrete move is likely to sign him.
