Here’s the list of the top 5 managers who are likely to replace Mikel Arteta

Arsenal are yet to get off the mark in the Premier League and after the 5-0 loss to Manchester City, the pressure is seriously building up on Mikel Arteta

In these three matches, Arsenal have conceded nine goals and have failed to score even one. And now there are whispers that the Spaniard could be shown the door really soon.

Some rumours have claimed that the Arsenal management is still putting their faith in Arteta but if he cannot turn things around right after the international break then the board will undoubtedly be looking for alternatives.

The current manager has maintained that he is the right man for the job but he will now have to back up his bold statement, especially since the fans are slowly turning against him.

As the pressure builds on Mikel Arteta, we take a look at some of the managers who are currently the bookmakers’ favourites to become the next Arsenal manager.

Next Arsenal manager:

Brendan Rodgers

The Leicester City boss is the current favourite to replace Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and it’s not a shocker given the amount of good work he has done at the King Power.

Rodgers tops the charts for the next Arsenal manager odds but we doubt if he will be ready to leave Leicester City at the start of the season and started a new rebuilding project at the Emirates.

Eddie Howe

Eddie Howe had done some great work during his time at AFC Bournemouth, managing 355 games for the club. But he left the Cherries in 2020 and is currently without a job.

Approaching him will be the easiest option but we doubt if the Arsenal management will want to put their faith in another relatively young manager.

Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte is another manager who is available in the market after he parted ways with Inter Milan earlier in the summer.

But one of the main reasons why Conte left Inter was because he thought the club might not be able to compete for titles this season. And if this was truly the case then there’s no way he will be ready to take charge of Arsenal.

Graham Potter

Potter took charge of Brighton in 2019 and in these two years, the 46-year-old has done some great work with the Seagulls.

Taking charge of a club like Arsenal might be a big deal for him despite him claiming in the past that he is more than happy at the Amex Stadium.

Ralph Hasenhuttl

Hassenhuttl is fifth on the favourites list to become the next Arsenal manager but he could be a real gamble choice from the Gunners management.

The Saints finished 15th on the Premier League table last season and this campaign, they are yet to pick up a win. So far, Southampton have drawn one and lost two of their games so we are not sure if Arsenal should try and make a move for him.

Wildcard: Steven Gerrard

Steven Gerrard is one of the surprise candidates on the list for the next Arsenal manager and given the stellar work he has done at Rangers FC, he might actually be a great appointment for the Gunners.

Gerrard is managing in the Scottish Premiership and he would love to take charge of a Premier League club sometime in the future. But we will have to wait and see if a Liverpool legend is going to manage Arsenal.
