Here’s the list of managers who are now favourites to replace Ancelotti at Everton

Everton have lost Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid and the Los Blancos have already announced the appointment of the Italian for a second term.

The Spanish side parted ways with Zinedine Zidane just a few days ago but Florentino Perez has wasted no time in finding a replacement for the Frenchman.

Everton have confirmed via their official channels that Carlo Ancelotti has parted ways with the club to head to the Bernabeu.

As a parting message, the 61-year-old said: “I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the players, and the Evertonians for the tremendous support they have all given me during my time at the Club.

“I have complete respect for everyone associated with Everton and hope they can achieve the exciting opportunities they have in front of them.

“While I have enjoyed being at Everton I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time.”

The 61-year-old came to Everton in December of 2019 and he had a contract with the Goodison Park outfit until the summer of 2024. But with no European football available for the next season, Ancelotti has wasted no time in returning to familiar territory.

This is surely going to be a setback for the Everton management but the club have already chalked up a list of potential managers who could replace Carlo Ancelotti at the dugout next season.

Steven Gerrard:

The Athletic are claiming that former Liverpool legend and current Rangers FC boss Steven Gerrard is one of the names being considered for the job.

Gerrard has done really well with Rangers this season, winning the Scottish Premiership but we don’t see this materializing any further simply because the midfielder spent his whole playing career at Liverpool and there’s no way he will be ready to take charge at Goodison Park.

Nuno Espirito Santo:

Santo has just parted ways with Wolves after having a successful few seasons and he is one who is currently without a job so Everton will find it really easy and financially viable to negotiate with him.

As things stand right now, Santo is the bookmakers’ favourites to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Everton next season with odds of 2/1.

Eddie Howe:

Eddie Howe is supposed to take over at Celtic this summer but this vacancy at Everton could easily sway his desire and he could snub the Scottish side to make a return to the Premier League.

Right now, the 43-year-old is at 3/1 to become the next Everton manager.

David Moyes:

David Moyes is another name that has been floating around right now but after achieving success with West Ham United this season, Moyes is not going to come back to Everton for a second stint.

The manager has guided the Hammers into the Europa League so there’s no way he will leave Thursday night football to start a new rebuilding process at Goodison Park.

Antonio Conte:

Antonio Conte has just exited from Italian Champions Inter Milan and the Everton hierarchy are also expected to approach him in the coming days. The Toffees feel if they can lure in someone like Carlo Ancelotti then Conte could also agree to join them.
