Newcastle United have been taken over by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and immediately the bookmakers have started slashing the next Newcastle United manager odds.

After much debate, debacle and roadblocks, the Saudi royal family backed deal is going through at a reported cost of around £305 million.

And no sooner has this news come to light, Steve Bruce’s job at the club has come under danger and it’s almost certain the Magpies are going to get a new manager really soon.

Talking about the closure of the deal, The Telegraph are reporting: “The Premier League has finally approved Mike Ashley’s sale of Newcastle United and claimed it has legally-binding assurances that Saudi Arabia’s rulers will not interfere.

“Following weeks of secret negotiations, top tier lawyers signed off the most controversial club takeover in English football history.

“The £305 million deal hands Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund an 80 per cent controlling stake, with the London-based Reuben brothers paying for a 10 per cent stake, and broker, Amanda Staveley, receiving 10 per cent for her role in setting up the deal.

“The PIF’s chairman is Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman, yet Premier League chiefs claim they have now received guarantees that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not be running the club.”

No matter what happens behind the scenes but the Newcastle United fans are really excited as their club is not only going to see a new manager but will also see a major revamp of their first-team squad, much line with the one that happened at Manchester City.

As the new Public Investment Fund takes charge of the Magpies we take a look at five managers who could likely become the next Newcastle United manager.

Next Newcastle United manager odds:

Steven Gerrard:

Surprisingly, Steven Gerrard’s name is currently at the top of the list of the next Newcastle United manager odds and many pundits think the former Liverpool man could be the ideal replacement for Steve Bruce.

Gerrard has done some exceptional work at Rangers in the past few seasons and it will not be a surprise if he chooses to move out of the SPFL in the hopes of managing a Premier League club.

Antonio Conte:

Conte parted ways with Inter Milan during the summer and the ex-Chelsea boss will be an immediate impact maker at Newcastle United.

Antonio Conte knows what’s required to succeed at the top level but we will have to wait and see if the Italian is ready to undertake up a rebuilding process which could take a few seasons.

Zinedine Zidane:

Zidane is another name that has been doing the rounds in the next Newcastle United manager odds and since the French legend is currently without a club, it will be really easy to convince him to take up the job.

Brendan Rodgers:

Brendan Rodgers has done some solid work at Leicester City since moving back to England from Celtic and he is another man who could be fit for the job.

But having said that, he has a great relationship with the Leicester bosses so if the new Newcastle owners are serious about him then they need to really put forward a lucrative offer.

Unai Emery:

Unai Emery failed to succeed in England with Arsenal but he’s managed to get back his mojo with La Liga side Villarreal. And there’s a big chance he will want another crack at the Premier League and if Newcastle United come calling then he could start packing his bags.
