5 managers who are amongst the favourites to replace Daniel Farke: Pretty exciting prospects

The Canaries have finally sacked Daniel Farke and they are now searching for the next Norwich City manager who can help them remain in the Premier League next season.

Norwich has been really poor this season, winning only one match so far and those three points came this past weekend vs Brentford. The win has done very little to lift the spirits amongst the players and the fans which is why the management thought best to part ways with Farke.

The official statement stated: “Norwich City can confirm that head coach Daniel Farke has left the club with immediate effect.

“Daniel departs Carrow Road having overseen 208 competitive games at the helm across a four-and-a-half-year spell.”

The departure of Daniel Farke means another lucrative position has become vacant and there will be many candidates who will queue up to become the next Norwich City manager.

Next Norwich City manager: 5 favourite candidates right now

Frank Lampard:

The former Chelsea boss did some pretty amazing work at Stamford Bridge despite not being able to sign new players so he is one of the ideal candidates to work on a shoe-string budget.

The side that Tuchel won the UCL final with was primarily curated by Frank Lampard during the first half of the season. But we will have to wait and see if the Blues legend wants a potential relegation blot on his resume.

Dean Smith

Smith was sacked by Aston Villa on Sunday but in his three-year tenure at Villa Park, the 50-year-old had managed to assemble a pretty neat squad.

Last season, he managed to keep Villa in the top division and he also brought in some exciting talent during the summer. But unfortunately, he failed to use him in a proper system this time around.

Dean Smith could be one of those budget replacements for the Canaries.

Steven Gerrard:

Gerrard has successfully brought back the glory days at Rangers so ideally his next step will be to manage a Premier League club.

The ex-England international’s ultimate dream is to manage Liverpool and if he becomes the next Norwich City manager then it will be the perfect audition for the top job.

Kjetil Knutsen:

Kjetil Knutsen might be an unknown figure in England but the 53-year-old has done remarkably well with Bodo Glimt in the Eliteserien.

He is currently the bookmakers favourite to becoming the next Norwich City manager and people who have seen him manage in Norway claim that he can be the perfect man to keep the Canaries afloat this season.

Steve Bruce:

Bruce was recently sacked by the new Newcastle United owners following which he had emotionally hinted at quitting management.

But if Norwich City come calling then the 60-year-old could very easily scrap those plans and try and prove himself one more time in the Premier League.

Steve Bruce did pretty well to keep Newcastle in the top division despite not getting any finances so he could be the one to turn things around at Carrow Road.
