Chelsea take on Spurs in the Premier League this coming weekend and it seems like N’Golo Kante will not be a part of this match.
The Frenchman has had an injury-prone season for the Blues and on Monday, he picked up another injury while playing against Manchester United.
N’Golo Kante picked up a muscle injury during the first 10 minutes of the match and after just 12 minutes the midfielder had to be replaced by Mason Mount which clearly threw a spanner at Frank Lampard’s initial plans.
And speaking after the match, the Chelsea boss has hinted that the injury does not look too good.
Lampard said at his post-match press conference: ‘It’s an adductor injury, so we’ll have to assess it, scan it.
‘But it doesn’t look great, doesn’t look great at the minute.’
‘I don’t know that(reoccurrence of a previous injury) yet for sure. I wouldn’t want to give you that information. I know it’s the same leg, so it’s similar.’
This injury would also mean that N’Golo Kante will not feature for Chelsea when the Blues welcome Spurs in a London Derby on Saturday.

And this could be a huge problem for Lampard given the attacking talent that Spurs have in their armoury.
While the Chelsea manager does have players like Mason Mount and Barkley who can fill up the void left by N’Golo Kante but the midfielder does add a lot to the defensive structure of the side which the likes of Mount and Barkley do not have in their game.
So with players like Dele Alli and Lucas Moura at his disposal, Jose Mourinho will surely be aiming to pick up all three points when his visits his former employers on Saturday.
